I am honored to serve as and have been Principal of Elon Elementary for 12 years.  Prior to Elon Elementary, I served as the Assistant Principal at both Madison Heights Elementary and Amelon Elementary. I was also an administrator and teacher with Lynchburg City Schools for many years before joining Amherst County Public Schools. I have been blessed with a wonderful husband, and we have one amazing 5 year old daughter. I sincerely enjoy time with my family, singing, dancing, and traveling. I thank God every day for abundant blessings.

The past year and a half have been uncharted territory during the pandemic, but I could not be prouder of our attitudes and accomplishments. Despite the stressors put on families, teachers, and students, we continued to see students make academic gains and develop resilience. Our faculty and staff will continue to embed critical thinking and collaboration across all content areas. We will also continue working diligently to meet the diverse needs of our students through small group instruction across all grade levels, school-wide implementation of other numerous instructional strategies and methods, and emphasize meaningful, timely feedback to help students work towards academic mastery. In light of numerous challenges as a result of the pandemic we will plan to continually use a team approach to learning the personal narratives of each student in our care while working in partnership with their respective families to determine how best to meet the needs of our students.

I wholeheartedly believe that every student at Elon Elementary is uniquely capable and deserves to be challenged and engaged in relevant, rigorous, and meaningful learning each day. I know that if we work to build relationships not only with students, but with each other, there is nothing we cannot accomplish in preparing each and every student for their future.

Thank you for being a valued part of the Elon Elementary School Community.
