PTO News Updates February 2019)
 
We hope everyone is staying well. We have some fun things planned for February. 
 
  • The next Hill City Inflatables night is Wednesday, Feb. 13th from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. Elon Elementary will get back 40% of the sales that night.
  • Thursday, Feb. 14th from 4:00 - 8:30 pm is Funquest Fundraiser night. Elon will get back $3.00 from each pre paid ticket admission.
  • Friday, Feb. 15th is 4th grade lunch duty. The teachers will get a duty free lunch that day courtesy of the 4th grade parent volunteers.

 

Upcoming Events:

  • March 4th - Uncle Jerry's T's fundraiser begins. Watch for more information to come home soon.
  • April - Elon apparel sale

 

The Elon PTO is always looking for volunteers. Every parent and guardian are a part of the PTO. We need your help and support. If you are interested in becoming a member or volunteering and would like to add your name to the email list, please contact Michelle Douthat at mdouthat@msn.com or call or text 434-609-6978. There are many ways to be a part of the PTO wheter it's volunteering your time, providing a service, offering new ideas on fundraisers or events or donating refreshments.

The next PTO meeting will be Monday, March 4 at 6:00 in the library.

About the EES PTO
 
What does the PTO do?
The primary purpose of the Elon PTO is to raise money for various school projects. We sponsor events during the school year, including fundraisers, providing refreshments for school programs, T-Shirt sales, and partnering with local businesses like Funquest, Country Cookin, Biscuitville and Sluggos. Our PTO Fundraisers have helped provide:
 
  • A new school playground
  • Dictionary sets for the classrooms
  • $100 per teacher annually for school supplies
  • Brain Pop and Brain Pop Jr. computer programs for the classrooms
  • Nature Zone Program for 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades
  • Supper for faculty on Parent/Teacher Conference nights and Open House
  • D.A.R.E t-shirts
  • SOL treats for students during testing days
  • Refreshments for Winter and Spring musicals
  • Pizza for Literacy Night
  • Sponsor an Angel Tree recipient
  • Santa Event
  • Lunch for faculty/staff during Teacher Appreciation Week
  • AR Books for the library
  • Playground balls
 
How can you be involved?
 
All parents are a part of our PTO! Volunteering with the Elon PTO is a great way to be involved with the students and teachers at our school. You can show your support for our school by participating in fundraising activities and volunteering at PTO sponsored events. Anyone wishing to volunteer or chaperone must complete a background check prior to volunteering. We strongly suggest doing this as soon as possible as it can take at least six weeks to complete. You can have this done at no charge at:
