Show your school spirit with a new Elon Elementary School shirt!!
Your Elon PTO is selling the "new" Elon design shirts! Sale starts Monday, Sept. 24th and all orders and money are due Friday, Oct. 5th. Please make checks payable to Elon Elementary PTO. If you have any questions, please contact Michelle Douthat at 434-609-6978 or
We hope everyone is settling into the new school year. We are approaching one of the busiest times of the year. We would like to thank everyone who participated in the Yankee Candle and T-Shirt fundraisers. The Yankee Candle items should be delivered to the school in the next week or so. Watch for a notice to go home for pick up dates and times.
Our next fundraiser nights will be:
Funquest - Oct. 11
Biscuitville - Oct. 16
Hill City Inflatables - Oct. 24
We will have a Glow in the Dark Dance on Nov. 15 so watch for more information to come home soon. There will be great food, music, and dancing.
Save the Date: Thurs. Dec. 13th Santa Event - more details to come home soon.
The next PTO meeting will be Monday Nov. 12th at 6:00 in the school library. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. All parents are part of the PTO. It's a great way to be involved and to see first hand what the PTO can do with your support. We look forward to seeing you there.

About the EES PTO
What does the PTO do?
The primary purpose of the Elon PTO is to raise money for various school projects. We sponsor events during the school year, including fundraisers, providing refreshments for school programs, T-Shirt sales, and partnering with local businesses like Funquest, Country Cookin, Biscuitville and Sluggos. Our PTO Fundraisers have helped provide:
  • A new school playground
  • Dictionary sets for the classrooms
  • $100 per teacher annually for school supplies
  • Brain Pop and Brain Pop Jr. computer programs for the classrooms
  • Nature Zone Program for 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades
  • Supper for faculty on Parent/Teacher Conference nights and Open House
  • D.A.R.E t-shirts
  • SOL treats for students during testing days
  • Refreshments for Winter and Spring musicals
  • Pizza for Literacy Night
  • Sponsor an Angel Tree recipient
  • Santa Event
  • Lunch for faculty/staff during Teacher Appreciation Week
  • AR Books for the library
  • Playground balls
How can you be involved?
All parents are a part of our PTO! Volunteering with the Elon PTO is a great way to be involved with the students and teachers at our school. You can show your support for our school by participating in fundraising activities and volunteering at PTO sponsored events. Anyone wishing to volunteer or chaperone must complete a background check prior to volunteering. We strongly suggest doing this as soon as possible as it can take at least six weeks to complete. You can have this done at no charge at:
